WS40 Gaussian Tunable Filter with Low Insertion Loss
The WS40 Tunable Filter features a Gaussian filter shape with a 3/20 dB ratio of 0.37. Wavelength tuning ranges over 120 nm from 1515 nm to 1635 nm. The filter features stable FWHM over the entire wavelength range, low insertion loss, low PMD, low chromatic dispersion, and high tuning speed. Tuning speed is typically 40 ms from any wavelength to any wavelength and guaranteed below 100 ms over the full 120 nm tuning range. Input power of 1W CW is guaranteed for all FWHM values.
The instrument is equipped with a touch screen for Direct User Control. External Control is provided through RS232 and Remote Control through Ethernet connection (RJ45).
Five Menus:
1) Selection of an arbitrary single wavelength.
2) Selection of a single wavelength from a predefined ITU grid and an
FWHM. Available ITU grids: 25GHz, 50GHz, 100GHz, and 200GHz.
3) Selection of a single wavelength from a user-defined grid, for example, a
37.5 GHz grid.
4) Selection of a sequence of wavelengths. The user defines the sequence
with a measurement delay per item. This enables automated BER
measurement at multiple wavelengths.
5) Selection of External Control via RS232.
A trigger is available as an option for operation in either master or slave mode in menu number 4.
